  • Adaptive shooting program discussions
    • This is relative to everyone because everyone is aging.  The aging defender presentation has been added to the NRA AM seminar schedule

    • For places without a range there a range in a box available that uses air rifles and contains everything you need at no cost.  Contact T&E for additional information.

  • A new NRA CCW course has been released
    • Originally announced at the 2018 NRA AM
    • It is modular in design and you need to teach the modules necessary for your state
    • The student course has 10 sections in addition to a non-NRA legal section.  The course could take 14hrs+ to do all sections but that will be dependent upon what your state requires.
    • Currently there are over 150 TCs certified to teach instructors and courses are listed in NRAInstructors.org
    • Certificates will be printed for each state with required statements on them
    • This is an additional certification on top of Pistol Instructor
    • The new course was described as is a combination of BOPS and PPOTH and you will get both books in the student packet
    • *Note: This course was built to comply with all state requirements but if your state requires course approval the instructor will need to seek this
    • Questions on the CCW course should be directed to T&E
  • Basic Of Pistol Shooting (BOPS) book update
    • New book is spiral bound and has a modernized look and feel with modern firearms and ammunition
    • Currently working through stock of the old book and it’s estimated that we will see new books starting in Q3
  • New State & Region TC program
    • There will be 99 state appointed TCs and 8 regional TCs
    • TCs will be selected on point system for 2yr term (i.e. courses taught, history w/T&E, student feedback)
    • These appointed will help T&E communicate out to other TCs and instructors in their area.
    • Decisions will be made in next couple of months on who will be appointed
    • T&E will always be available to answer questions and will be the final decision makers for any discipline
  • Future projects for T&E
    • A full switch to online certificates for all courses (timeline and if there will be offline access is still not set)
    • Look to update NRAInstructors.org to a modern interface and support all the courses

    • The nomination process will be sent out to all instructors
  • Q&A for instructors in attendance
    • The new youth coordinator is Claudia Olsen taking over from Mark Belli
    • CCW course was designed with each states requirements in mind
    • For those who want to get the CCW certification they should check out the NRAInstructor.org website for class listings
    • Carry Guard courses have been advertising in the NRA magazines and are paid for by that group.  Carry Guard is no officially on hold and to have T&E courses listed they would need to pay for the space in the magazine. This will be looked into but those decisions are made above the people in the room

The presentation from T&E was video taped and will be published at a future date.  When that is published we will update this post.
